In the Roman Catholic Church, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, the season of preparation for the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday.

While Ash Wednesday is not a Holy Day of Obligation, all Roman Catholics are encouraged to attend Mass on this day in order to mark the beginning of the Lenten season.

As we journey through this Advent season, I would like to remind you that we are going to be celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday, December 8, 2009.  It is a day of obligation and I would appreciate if we all could participate in the Eucharistic Celebration of the Holy Masses.  Our schedule of Masses honoring the Mother of Jesus and our Mother are:

7:30am (English)

8:10am (School Mass – Public Welcome)

12:00pm (English)

5:30pm (English)

7:00m (Spanish)

I know that it is a day that you will have to work, but I am sure that you will find the time for come and honor Our Mother.
