Lectors
To find out about becoming a lector please contact Nancy Deshler, Lector Coordinator at lectors@ctkla.org.
The lector Ministry emphasizes the respective roles of the Laity and the Clergy in the summit of the church’s activity- the Liturgy. The Lector ministry is open to any parishioner, male or female, including teenagers.
Ministry Purpose: To proclaim God’s own words through the words of Scripture. To realize that in and through us, God speaks to the gathered faithful. To understand that the Word of God is not merely read: it is proclaimed and effective proclamation involves the delivery of the message with clarity, conviction, and appropriate pace.
Anyone interested in the Lector ministry may contact the Lector Coordinator to schedule Lector training course and commitment schedule.
At Christ the King, parishioners are invited to become Lector Ministers. They are selected by having expressed a desire to become a Lector and having completed a Lector training course and VIRTUS training.
