A message from Dr. Kurban...

May 2010

Dear Parents, Parishioners, and Friends,

As we come to the end of this 2009-2010 school year, I wish to thank all the parents for their continued support, which contributed to making this year successful, challenging, and rewarding for the students as well as for the faculty and staff.  Without the parents’ commitment to fulfilling their obligations, and volunteering help whenever it was needed, the school year’s success would not have been possible.  We firmly believe that the parents are the primary educators of their children, and that our striving to educate the whole child would not be possible without their involvement and dedication.

We are proud of our junior high students’ high academic achievement, especially in scoring in eighth place overall in the archdiocesan Junior High Academic Decathlon, while competing against over one hundred schools.  We look forward to similar successes in the coming year.

This year we bid farewell and extend our gratitude to Miss Georgina Severin for her years of service at Christ the King School.  We wish her every success and happiness in her future.

We are pleased to welcome Miss Elisa Ramos, who will be our homeroom eighth grade teacher.  She comes to us with many years of successful teaching experience.

We are proud of our Pastor, Monsignor Antonio Cacciapuoti, who was elevated to the title of Monsignor for his outstanding service to our parish and school.  We thank him for guiding all of us for the past eleven years, with love, concern, and understanding.  Although we are sad to know that he will be leaving us this summer to assume his new position as Pastor of St. Bede’s Church, we pray that the Lord will continue to bless him in his ministry.

Sincerely in Christ,

Mrs. Mary Kurban, Ed.D.
Principal
