Dear Christ the King Family,
My name is Juan Jose Ochoa; I have been assigned by archbishop Jose Gomez as the new administrator. Here is some biographical information.
I was born in Jalisco, Mexico. Since age four, I felt called by God to become a priest; I constantly dreamed of celebrating Mass. I even used to play Mass with my friends. My family, especially my mother and grand-aunt, encouraged me to consider the priesthood. Since my early childhood, many priests also have inspired me to become a priest. While my desire to be a priest faded away in my early high school years in high school, during the last months of my senior year I decided to try the seminary.
I attended Mother of Sorrows School and Cathedral High School in Los Angeles. After graduation in 2005, I entered the Juan Diego House in Gardena, the formation house for college seminarians. I earned a B.A. at Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2009. Upon graduating from college, I entered St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo. On May 31st, 2014, I was ordained a priest for the archdiocese of Los Angeles at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. I served as associate pastor at St. Emydius Church in Lynwood,
July 2014 – June 2-16. And my last assignment was associate pastor at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and to Archbishop Jose Gomez, July 2016 – June 2019.
I look forward to know you and serve you all.
Please keep me in your prayers as I begin this new assignment.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Juan J. Ochoa
